Pink and White Flower

Yes, I have noticed that I don't have a gift for giving my photographs titles. So this one it titled for what it is. This flower is one some sort of tree. I love the texture of the inside of this flower and the contrast between the colors. I think that the petal in the bottom. left hand corner makes this a little more interesting than a straight up shot of a flower.

I also like the green in the center in the flower playing off of the little bit of greem behind the flower. Critique is welcome!

Winter Berries

This photograph is called Winter Berries and is a shot of the berries on a Washington Hawthorne tree just after the first snow of the year last December. The contrast between the bright red and the stark white of fresh snow attracted me to the shot. I also like the contrasts of the other berries that are out of focus shapes in the background.

The shape of the branch and the presence of the main bunch of berries being not centered, but completely on the left side of the photograph also interested me when I was setting up this shot. Critique is welcome!

After the Rain

This is kind of old news for me, this photograph is titles After the Rain and was shot in a field after it had flooded. I like the starkness in the composition and the reflection of the tree in the water (which I have covered up with a watermark, sorry)

The asymmetrical shape of the tree was something that drew me to it. Any thoughts?

Introduction and First Photograph

I am not exactly sure what I want to do with this blog, maybe I just made it to talk to other photographers and learn as much as I can. That sounds about right. I will post some photos and critique is very welcome! If you have any questions feel free to send me a message!

This is a photograph that I have titled the Divorce, it seems to be how I was feeling at the time, now I see it a little differently, but it still depicts what my soul is doing, swirling about and sinking. The original shot was of incense smoke against a black background. I used a flash to intensify the reflection and shape of the smoke. In gimp I changed the most to grayscale, inverted it, and upped the contrast. Any thoughts?
